Dr Georgios P. Chalkos | PhD in Entrepreneurship, Lecturer of Management and Nascent Entrepreneurship at Metropolitan College, Business Consultant

Adapting the Canvas Business Model to Social Entrepreneurship 

Dr. Georgios P. Chalkos holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), an MSc in Service Management from the same university and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Technology from the University of Piraeus.

He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to business administration, such as entrepreneurship and innovation, operations management, contemporary business environment, SMEs management, management insight and consulting, international management, and methods of enquiry.

As a researcher of the Management Laboratory (ml.aueb.gr) at AUEB, he conducts his postdoctoral research, with a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation, exploring the determinants of entrepreneurial intentions and start-up activity of nascent entrepreneurs.

The research interests of Mr. Chalkos combine nascent and social entrepreneurship, focusing on the investigation of entrepreneurial process and specifically on the transition from entrepreneurial intentions to entrepreneurial activity for new venture creation. His research has been presented at numerous international conferences including: Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business (RENT) and British Academy of Management (BAM).

Zannis Gkiouzelis | Lecturer/Module Leader

Mr Zannis Gkiouzelis is a Political Scientist, International Affairs Specialist and Lecturer in Business Management. He holds a BA in Political Science and International Affairs (Panteion University of Athens, Greece) and an MSc in European Politics and Policy (The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK). He is member of the Hellenic Political Science Association. He has been a Lecturer at Metropolitan College since 2005, and has been presented the “Academic Ethos & Integrity Award” in 2018, for his teaching delivery methods.  His sixteen years teaching experience is focused on management, human resource management, communication, negotiation strategies, leadership and organizational behavior. He also provides training services for business professionals and acts as politics and policy adviser for MPs and various political institutions.

Angela is a Communication Strategist and Journalist with 26 years of successful experience in Crisis Prevention and Management as well as Political, Corporate, and Internal Communication. With a resume that ranges from field journalism to PR, she enjoys a reputation of tenaciously protecting her clients’ interests. Marking one of her most notable co-operations, is her representation of Hard Rock International with regards to their participation in the International Tender for the Integrated Resort Casino near Athens. Previously, she assumed the role of Media Relations Consultant with Delphi Economic Forum IV and the 3rd EU-Arab World Summit. In 2012, she served as the Press Officer at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Hellenic Parliament acting as a liaison between the government and the media.

Her first international endeavor was the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, a historic religious event targeting an audience of 250 million people worldwide. As the Communication Director, she led a multinational team of media experts and moderated the daily live streaming press briefings broadcast worldwide. She started her career with broadcast media. Covering and live broadcasting major breaking news stories in Greece and abroad for more than 15 years, she gained extensive experience and impressive references in many fields. Angela holds a Bachelor’s in Communication and Mass Media from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She regularly attends on-line training sessions to discover new communication trends around the globe.

Emmanouella Moussama graduated from University of Piraeus with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 1997 and from City University in London with a MSc. in Organizational Behavior in 1998. In 2019, she completed the Jungian Coaching Program certified by ICF, in Istanbul with Dr. Avi Goran Bar. She is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard Extension School in International Relations aiming for further engagement in socially impactful entities. 

For three years, she worked at the NGO PRAKSIS, whose main goal is the elimination of social and economic exclusion of vulnerable social groups and the defense of their personal and social rights.

From 2016 she works at Antonis A. Moussamas SA as Experience and Communication Director, contributing in all levels of operation of the three owned properties: the Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre, the Holiday Inn Athens Attica Ave. Airport West and the Holiday Inn Arnis Street.

How to start your own tourism business

Katerina is the Director of the travel & hospitality accelerator, CapsuleT. Katerina joined forces with the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels in January 2019 and has developed on behalf of the HCH the strategic planning and growth of CapsuleT’s program, the 1st travel & hospitality accelerator in Greece. 

From 2013 till 2018 Katerina was acting as the Executive Director of the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece, the local chapter of MITEF Global. Working with the BoD from the launch of the chapter in Greece, she successfully planned and delivered 4 rounds of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition platform as well as several other startup community events such as StartSmart Conference and Tech that Matter theme events.  

Prior to MITEF Greece, Katerina worked for 12 years in the marketing communication & advertising industry, acting as an Account Director for Sprint Integrated Marketing Communications till January 2013.

She received her Tourism Management degree in 2003 from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She then worked for several years as a Sales & Marketing Manager specializing in digital sales for large 4 & 5 stars hotels in Rhodes, Kos & Athens.

For the last 8 years, Stella worked as a Revenue & Optimization Consultant and then as an Operations Manager for WebHotelier, the well-known booking engine platform.

In Nov 2019, she started her own entepreneurship journey and founded INcrementUM, an E-sales & Online Distribution Management Company for hotels in Greece, along with her business partner Nikitas Nikitaras. INcrementUM now counts almost 40 hotels in 15 destinations and counting. She is a single mom of a 13-year old boy, George!
